Before you travel

Travel insurance

Please arrange personal travel insurance before joining Celtic Viking Tours.

What your insurance should cover

Please choose cover suitable for a short outdoor camping trip in Ireland. We recommend checking that your policy covers:

  • Trip cancellation, curtailment, or missed travel connections.
  • Medical treatment, personal accident, and emergency assistance.
  • Outdoor walking, uneven ground, wet weather, and camping activity.
  • Personal belongings, phones, cameras, luggage, and valuables.
  • Any health condition, medication need, or mobility consideration relevant to your trip.

If you do not have insurance

Guests who decide to travel without insurance must complete the uninsured participant declaration before joining. This confirms that you understand you may be personally responsible for costs that insurance would otherwise cover.

A declaration is not a substitute for insurance. It also does not remove any legal rights or responsibilities that cannot be excluded by law.

Why this matters

The trip involves outdoor conditions, camping, changing weather, lakeside and mountain scenery, forest paths, and public heritage areas. Most guests will find it relaxed and manageable, but it is still an outdoor trip and personal preparation matters.

Before arrival

  • Bring your insurer name and policy number if you have insurance.
  • Tell us before arrival about any medical, access, mobility, or dietary issue relevant to the trip.
  • Read the risk acknowledgement and safety notes.
